Nowadays, the labour market is very competitive, and it is increasingly important that students have the right knowledge and skills to enter and/or return to work easily. Trying to respond to labour market demands, universities continuously adapt their academic programs to professional requirements. In order to support them in better preparing students for their future realization, BEGIN project sets the goal to develop open educational resources as per employers’ needs. On the one hand, this is a response to the employers' expectations that university graduates should have not only professional knowledge and skills but also soft competences. The latter makes a modern employee more flexible and easier to adapt to changing conditions and the labour market. Moreover, an employee, who possesses the right soft skills, is also more open to mobility and multiculturalism as an important element of the European labour market. On the other hand, the development of the BEGIN tools is also an adequate response to the policies of the European Union in the field of education, labour market and the increasing unemployment of young people.
